Toonz Touching Lives in Extraordinary Ways

Last month, a truly heartwarming moment unfolded in Trivandrum—a graduation ceremony that marked a milestone for Toonz Media Group and our commitment to making a difference. On the dais, our colleagues stood proud, celebrating not just an achievement but the realization of a shared dream.

The ceremony saw the graduation of 19 students from the Different Art Centre (DAC), Kazhakkuttam, a facility dedicated to empowering children with special needs. These 15 boys and 4 girls made history as the first group of specially abled children trained in graphic design and editing. Their journey was part of IMAGE (Inclusive Media Arts Graphics Empowerment), an initiative under Toonz’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in collaboration with DAC.

Under the expert mentorship of Toonz Academy, these remarkable students were upskilled in just eight months. Their newfound talents now equip them to face the world with confidence, shining as beacons of inspiration for millions across the globe.

A Home of Empowerment

DAC, led by the visionary magician Gopinath Muthukad, is a sanctuary for children with special needs. It nurtures them through professional training programs designed to foster independence and self-reliance. Recognized as a “home away from home,” DAC has become a symbol of hope and transformation.

Toonz Academy embraced the challenge of training these students, tailoring the learning experience to their unique requirements. For mentor Shemin Shahul Hameed, it was a profoundly rewarding journey, as the students’ enthusiasm and determination inspired everyone involved.

A Graduation Like No Other

"The graduation ceremony had a special guest of honor, Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly, A. M. Shamseer, who described it as one of the most impactful events he had ever attended. A moment of amazement unfolded when one of the students, Gowtham Sheen, showcased his incredible talent by creating a digital portrait of the guest within minutes. The event garnered widespread media coverage, celebrating the achievements of these extraordinary students and the collaboration between Toonz and DAC.

A Token of Gratitude

The very next day, magician Gopinath Muthukad visited Toonz Studio to personally thank our CEO, P Jayakumar, for the meaningful gesture. During his visit, he toured our production facilities and experienced the magic of animation created by our talented artists and animators.

New Book by Former Central Minister Lauds Toonz Academy

"The Winning Formula: 52 Ways to Change Your Life," the latest book by K.J. Alphonse, also known as Alphonse Kannanthanam, highlights life-altering decisions that define our paths.

One of the book's standout chapters, “The Jailor Who Set His Son Free,” features an inspiring account by Rishiraj Singh, former Jail DGP of Kerala Police. In this chapter, Rishiraj shares his approach to mentoring his son, emphasizing encouragement over pressure. He recounts how he never forced his son to focus solely on academic achievements but instead supported his son’s artistic passion.

This encouragement allowed Chatrasal Singh to pursue his love for animation, which ultimately led to extraordinary success. Starting with foundational training at Toonz Academy, Chatrasal honed his skills and built a strong base. On the advice of P. Jayakumar, CEO of Toonz Media Group, Rishiraj facilitated Chatrasal's advanced studies in animation at Vancouver, Canada. Today, Chatrasal Singh stands tall as one of the top animators at Walt Disney Studios, a testament to his passion and the support he received.
